The song of the year songwriting contest has one winner from each of the ten songwriting categories.
The next highest ranked placement is the Finalist placement. There are four Finalist
placements in each contest. Next, there are five Semi-Finalist placements from each category.

The next highest placement is then the"Runner-Up" placement. The Runner-Ups are
the next five highest ranked songwriters directly under the one winner, four finalists
and five semi-finalists from each category. Considering there are ten songwriting categories,
there are fifty Runner-Ups total in each competition. Runner-Up placing songwriters
are ranked among the top writers (within the top 1%) of the entries in the songwriting contest.
